Happy 4th of July!!!
On July 4th (last year - I'm still trying to catch up!!), we took Drew and Mikayla to Lake Bowen to watch the parade of floats.
The kids had more fun playing on the hill in the grass than they did watching the floats. They really wanted to get in the water.
So we left there and headed over to Mimi and Poppi's house to swim. After swimming, it was time for fireworks!!

My dad, Poppi, has had these "snakes" for years. They used to be my brother's favorites when we were little, and now both of our children LOVE them. They are a small black (soot) disc, that when lit, grows to resemble a snack. After they are finished "growing", Drew and Mikayla play in them - hence the black hands and faces. Daddy and Poppi watch and shake their heads...We had a lot of fun on the 4th of July last year! Drew always loves this holiday because it is so close to his birthday!! We can't wait to see what is in store for us this year!!
